When you flip a flask full of water with a screen covering the top, why does the water stop flowing
A screen is sort of like a metal 'mesh'. You have to explain using
the particle theory
air pressure keeps the water from flowing out.
There needs to be air coming in to allow the water to flow out. If water
starts to come out, and air cannot get it (because of the mesh) there is
now a small vacuum created in the top where the water once was.
